Honeylocust
The honeylocust was one of the most popular trees to be used after the decline of the American elm. Unfortunately it was used to often in this capacity and has now shown to be susceptible to many diseases and insects. Still, this tree does exhibit tolerance for urban conditions that many trees do not. If pruned and maintained, this makes a good landscape tree. Beware of natural honeylocust and their very large thorns.
