Black Walnut

​The black walnut is readily found on the urban landscape of most Minnesotan cities. These large trees are coveted by wildlife as well as woodworkers. The walnuts feed a wide array of critters while the wood is used in the making of many different types of furniture. The tree prefers a moist soil type but will tolerate drier conditions. The growth rate will be stunted in these drier type conditions.
